Privacy Policy
This policy applies specifically to Pinqilai, the photo and video collage app developed by YILI CHO (cylcode).
Your collages are processed on your device. Pinqilai has no accounts, advertisements, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics. The general advertising and photo-comparison provisions for our other apps do not apply to Pinqilai.
1. Information Used and Why
Pinqilai uses the photos and videos you select, their original audio where applicable, text and emoji you enter, and editing settings to create, preview and export collages. This content is processed on your device. We do not upload your media, text or drafts to developer-operated servers, advertising services or analytics providers, or use them for advertising or AI model training.
2. Selecting Photos and Videos
Pinqilai uses Apple’s system photo picker. The app receives only the items you explicitly select; it does not request permission to browse or read your entire photo library. You may cancel selection. Selected items are copied into the app’s private storage so you can continue editing and reopen your draft. If an item is stored in iCloud Photos, Apple may download it according to your settings and connectivity; this is not an upload to us.
Not selecting media does not prevent access to privacy information, but a collage requires selected content. Deleting a source from Photos does not automatically delete the app’s previously imported copy.
3. Saving to Photos and Other Permissions
When you first choose “Save to Photos,” Pinqilai requests permission to add the finished image or video to your photo library. This is add-only access, not permission to read your full library. If access is denied or restricted, you can still edit and use the system share sheet, including saving to Files where available. Manage this permission in iOS Settings; changing permission does not erase existing drafts or exported files.
Playing or exporting the original audio in a selected video does not require microphone access. The current app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, push-notification or App Tracking Transparency permission.
4. Drafts, Backups and Retention
Pinqilai keeps one current autosaved draft, the previous valid saved version and the media copies needed by those drafts in its private app storage. Editing settings and text are included. Undo and redo may temporarily retain removed items during editing. Unreferenced copies are cleaned up when it is safe to do so. A new project replaces the current draft only after media is successfully added; creating a new project does not guarantee immediate deletion of every older backup or recovery copy.
If a draft is damaged or media is missing, the app may preserve recovery information and associated copies instead of deleting them automatically. Drafts and protected backups can remain after the app is closed until replaced, no longer needed or explicitly deleted.
Finished exports and import staging files may be temporarily retained to support saving, sharing and imports. Unused export files are cleaned up at launch and export lifecycle points under age, count and size limits. Files still in use are protected; these limits are not a fixed maximum for all app storage.
5. Managing and Deleting Local Data
From the home screen, open the information button (ⓘ), then “Storage Management”:
- Clear temporary files: removes unused import/export temporary files and pending deletion remnants. It preserves your draft, backups, undo data and files still in use.
- Delete draft and backups: asks for confirmation, then deletes the current draft, its imported media copies, backups and recovery history. This cannot be undone.
Neither action deletes source media in Photos or finished files already saved to Photos, Files or another service. Manage those copies in the destination app or service. Deleting Pinqilai removes its local app data; offloading it or removing its Home Screen icon does not have the same effect. Copies in device backups or third-party services may remain and must be managed separately. We cannot remotely access or delete data held only on your device.
6. Sharing and Apple Services
Only when you choose to save or share does Pinqilai hand the finished file to Photos, Files or the app/service you select in the system share sheet. Recipients may receive the content, original video audio if included, and file information carried by the export. Check the result and recipient before sharing. The recipient’s privacy policy governs its handling of that file.
Apple services such as iCloud Photos, device backups and App Store ratings operate under your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. App data may be included in device backups according to system settings; “on-device editing” does not mean your separately enabled backup or sharing services never transfer data.
7. Local Settings, Storage Checks and Tracking
To avoid repeated rating requests, Pinqilai stores successful-save counts, first-use time and the version/time of previous rating requests locally. These records are not sent to us. Available device capacity is checked only to display storage information and reduce the risk of failed imports, exports or saves; we do not transmit it.
Pinqilai does not use advertising, tracking, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs, and does not access IDFA or sell your personal information. No account registration is required. Clearing collage data does not reset all local app preferences or rating-request counters.
8. Support, Security and Your Choices
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to respond and handle your request, retaining it only as long as necessary for that purpose or legal obligations. You do not need to send private photos or videos to ask a question.
We take reasonable measures to protect information you provide directly to us; no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device and review your backup and sharing settings. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us, or exercise applicable privacy rights. Manage permissions and local media using the controls described above.
9. Children and Other People’s Content
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through Pinqilai. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and handle it under applicable law. Obtain any necessary rights and consent before using or sharing photos, videos or voices of other people. Selecting an item in the system picker does not grant rights to third-party content.
10. Changes and Contact
If our data practices change, we will update this policy and effective date and provide any required notice or consent before new processing begins.
